STEVEN ALLEN
CEO and Technical Director
I grew up as the youngest of a large family in semi- rural Australia. Live music and theatre were a big part of my life along with sand and surf. After finishing school, I did the easiest and most fun thing to earn money which was to help out and work with friends in their musical endeavours. This was the beginning of my life as a “Roadie”.
I worked as a stage manager, sound engineer, lighting designer for a number of years before moving up to Production Manager, and then Tour Manager. It was a life of constant touring and different productions every night, throughout Australia and South East Asia.
In the late 90’s, whilst still in contact with friends from my early days of touring, I started to get back into the business working on bigger productions without the crazy touring schedule. I eventually fell into the world of Large International Sporting Events and that has been my life for the last 16 years: Olympic & Paralympics Games, Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games, European Games, Asian Games.
My motto which is used regularly for work and life in general, is ‘the show must go on’. Make it work and deliver the best possible result with the resources and environment you have been given.
GISELE LIMAS
Lighting Designer & Consultant
I’ve been passionate about lighting my entire life.
I’m an ‘every-kind-of-art’ compulsive consumer, most of all when light plays a role in it. And particularly in sports, to be able to impact with it, to transcend reality and transform athletes into stars, and enhance a moment for which they have dedicated so many hours, sometimes their entire life, is a privilege.
I can’t think of anything more rewarding as to be responsible to give light and spark to that very exact second, to that precise moment.
